The new feature - called Share on YouTube- is a basic chat feature and rolls out globally for mobile today. You can make them run half as fast as normal to make sure you hang onto every word, or speed them up twice as fast as normal to turn them into giddy insanity. Millions of users all over the world have been able to use the feature on the desktop version, but will now be excited to learn that similar feature is being extended to the Android version of the app.
With the Shared tab, users can have single or multiple threads for sharing, liking or commenting on videos. Once you tap it, it leads to a Google Allo-like chat interface wherein one can share YouTube videos directly with your contacts. It seems YouTube may anticipate its app becoming something like a general messaging option, though no doubt it will only appeal to those who frequently swap videos with their friends.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has spoken out against internet giant YouTube for failing to remove four gang videos, which incite violence and threaten rival gang members. Trust me, it's worth it. You can even create your own groups just like you do on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. All the videos you share will be grouped in a new tab on the YouTube mobile app, which will make it easier to see what videos your friends have shared recently.
Since YouTube is a video app, it makes sense for you to, apart from text and emoji, only add other videos in its conversation threads - you can not send images to each other.
YouTube owner Google already operates several messaging apps including Android Messages, Allo, Duo, Hangouts Chat and Hangouts Meet. If you still want to continue sharing videos through third-party apps, you can do that as well.
The "share" button now includes a way to select recipients from your contact list and forward the app in YouTube. Shared videos in these threads will conveniently play in-line.
"We wanted to let you know that the Video Editor (youtube.com/editor) and Photo slideshows will go away on September 20th, 2017". "We've been experimenting with a better way to share videos on YouTube since past year".
