Sensex dropped below 32,200 by 10 AM.
Barring IT and teck, all the sectoral indices, led by metal, realty, bank and auto were trading in the positive terrain with gains up to 1.03 per cent. It was followed by Tata Steel (Rs. 95.86 million), Centrum Capital (Rs. 45.93 million) and Hindalco Industries (Rs. 37.46 million).
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive.
Asian stocks are broadly lower and the offshore yuan spiked as Chinese exports and imports figures missed expectations. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 25.61 points, or 0.1%, to a new closing record of 22,118.42. The Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 32.21 points, or 0.5%, to 6,383.77.

Shares of Goodricke Group climbed as much as 12 per cent in early trade on Tuesday after the company reported 54.55 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 22.24 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 against Rs 14.39 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Net sales rose 18.9% to Rs 29386.76 crore in Q1 June 2017 over Q1 June 2016.
European markets ended mixed on Monday after downbeat German data and mixed earnings updates.
