Transcripts of her 911 calls, made public Wednesday, show that Damond called twice, first summoning officers to her home and then, several minutes later, making sure they had the address right because she could still hear the woman's screams.
"It's been going on for a while and I think she tried to say help and it sounds distressed", she added.

Harteau told reporters she would prefer Noor speak about the incident. Mr Noor has so far refused to give his account of events.
Noor has not made any statements to investigators, Harteau said. Earlier in the day, Mayor Betsy Hodges said she expected body cams "will be active the moment an officer begins responding to a call" and "should have been on in a case like this".
When Mohamed Noor was assigned to patrol the Minneapolis Police Department's fifth district last May, the news was met with almost ubiquitous acclaim from both the city's Somali community and from local officials.

The officers were wearing body cameras, but they did not turn them on until after the shooting, according to the BCA. The officer, Jeronimo Yanez, was acquitted in June of first-degree reckless homicide.
That statement can not be used against him in any criminal investigation.
The governor said he agreed with Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, who said the officers may not have been required to have the cameras running, but should have turned them on. Just before Damond was shot through a patrol auto window by an officer before midnight Saturday, officers spotted an 18- to-25-year-old white male bicycling in the area, according to investigators who interviewed one officer.
