A R Rahman provides music for the film and he has some soulful music that is soothing in keeping with the plot of the film. Released on Friday, July 7, 2017, the film is getting a positive response from the audience on the first day-first show of the film. Also, I found Arya's getting permission for the party as a little too hasty and easy. Director Ravi Udyawar has mastered the art of capturing the intensity of the situation through his camera and Mom bears testimony to that. The director has truly won the hearts of everyone with the emotional connect that he brings in the film which hits hard and impacts deeply.
Kannada drama Ondu Motteya Kathe, starring Raj B. Shetty and Shailashree and directed by Shetty himself, is exactly the kind of comedy the trailer promised, with laugh-out-loud lines and scenes, says Film Companion.

The acting prowess of legendary actress Sridevi needn't be highlighted again. She said,"I am totally a director's actor". One wonders why he is not doing many films these days! Akshaye Khanna does a fabulous job as a cop but could have used a few extra nuances.
Makers of mom movie has arranged a special screening for Bollywood film critics and celebrities. The fact that "Mom" differs from "Maatr" is the big names studded in the star cast and a better execution of the story. Instead, she is intense and that works really well for the film. Age might have diluted her beauty but once she starts her bit of acting you can not but take notice.
Then of course the plot where Devki aided by a sharp but cartoonish detective DK (played by such rich flavour by Nawazuddin) plots a revenge where the cops know she is the one executing the killings but can not do anything about it.
Has Nawazuddin Siddiqui ever failed to impress? The film particularly takes time to reach the climax.
While talking about her decision to take up the role in the film she said that the script is the most important criteria and the Mom script moved her.
Udyawar's direction is confident and sure, but his writing (he's written the story alongwith Girish Kohli and Kona Venkat Rao) could have been sharper. The impact dialogues are not many but they stay with you till the next one comes. Appreciating the fantastic performances of the star cast, it declares the movie as a must-watch.
